5-Axis Machining in Our Workshop

Inspection of 5-Axis Machined Parts
JeaSnn inspects 5-axis machined parts according to customer drawings and specifications, focusing on critical dimensions, angled features, and positional relationships between machined surfaces. In-process and final inspections, including CMM measurement when required, help verify dimensional accuracy and conformance to specified requirements.
From Drawing Review to Machining
Before machining begins, we review your drawing and CAD model to understand the part geometry, specified material, tolerances, critical features, and other manufacturing requirements. This helps us identify key requirements early and prepare the machining process around your actual part specifications.
Drawing & CAD Review
We review the supplied drawing and 3D model to understand the complete part requirements before machining.
Key Requirements Confirmation
Material, tolerances, critical dimensions, surface finish, and other specified requirements are identified and confirmed before production.
Machining Preparation
Based on the reviewed requirements, our team prepares the machining approach, workholding, tooling, and inspection points required for the part.
The goal is simple: make sure the machining plan starts with a clear understanding of your drawing requirements.

5-Axis CNC Machining FAQ
What is the difference between 3+2 axis machining and simultaneous 5-axis machining?
In 3+2 axis machining, the rotary axes position the workpiece at a fixed angle and remain locked while the X, Y, and Z axes perform the cutting. In simultaneous 5-axis machining, the linear and rotary axes can move together continuously during cutting. JeaSnn currently provides 3+2 axis machining.
How do I know if 3+2 axis machining is suitable for my part?
3+2 axis machining is often suitable for parts with features on multiple faces or at different fixed angles that would otherwise require repeated repositioning. Send us your drawing and 3D model, and we can review the geometry and machining requirements before quotation.
What affects the cost of a 5-axis machined part?
Cost depends on factors such as material, part geometry, machining time, tooling, tolerance requirements, surface finishing, inspection requirements, and order quantity. A complex-looking part is not necessarily expensive for the same reasons as another part, so the most reliable way to evaluate cost is to review the actual drawing and quantity.
What information should I provide for a 5-axis machining quote?
For a more accurate review and quotation, provide your 2D drawing and/or 3D CAD model together with the material, quantity, tolerances, surface finish, and any critical inspection requirements. Clearly marking critical features on the drawing also helps our team understand what matters most for your part.
How long does 5-axis CNC machining take?
Lead time depends on the part geometry, material availability, quantity, tolerance and inspection requirements, surface finishing, and the overall manufacturing process. We review these requirements with your drawing before confirming the production schedule.
Can you support repeat orders for 5-axis machined parts?
Yes. JeaSnn supports custom machined parts from initial orders through repeat production. For repeat projects, drawing revisions or requirement changes should be confirmed before the next production run so the correct version is used.
